Building Trust in the Police Through Ethics, Human Rights, and Public Communication: Experiences of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava (2026), Capt. JUDr. Nina Laca, PhD., Lt. Col. Assoc. Prof. PhDr. JUDr. Mgr. Jozef Medelský, PhD
Public trust is the most valuable asset of any modern police force. It does not arise automatically from the adoption of laws or from the exercise of police powers themselves. It is built by the daily professional approach of police officers, respect for human rights, adherence to ethical principles, open communication with the public, and willingness to cooperate with the community.
